Masters of Sameness

From dead CEOs to live presidents, rich and powerful men often choose to wear the same clothes every day. What’s with that, and does it matter?

  • Hahaha! I just chocked on my raisin bran. This comic is dangerous at breakfast time.

I dearly love when my different sources of information coalesce around an issue from two different approaches. I refer to this item about the mathematics behind hipsters. The hipsters all look alike because they have, among their entire group, practically no original ideas or thoughts. It’s mighty funny to realize that the “innovators” too have almost no original ideas or thoughts to offer and settle into a conformity standard of identical uniforms.

Zuckerberg. Is it just me or does he have a deer-in-the-headlights look all the time? If you put him in charge of a Starbucks, he’d have the place in flames by lunchtime. Jobs? Jobs was a douche. I have little doubt that Zuckerberg will prove to be even more of one.

  • Don’t diss this trend, Ted ; wearing the same clothes every day is perhaps the only point in common people who, like your humble interlocutor, are on a pension have with chaps like Messrs Zuckerberg and Obama. I certainly don’t get to bomb anybody in the third world, irrespective of religious persuasion….

Take comfort, Henri. Tonight, Mr. Obama will try to be tough with the Republicans.

One of the first lessons from the playground: You don’t get to suddenly be tough most of the way through the school year. You have to be tough right from the beginning. There’s simply too much inertia to be overcome.

I’ve seen enough episodes of “Oz” to know what happens next: Republicans make the Prez their biatch.

      • Perhaps, alex, Mr Obama will take a page from those old Charles Atlas ads, wipe the sand out of his eyes, and get pissed enough to drone ’em ? Now that would be something to see live on television !… 😉
