Government a la Carte

After Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis asserts the right to issue marriage certificates to everyone except same-sex couples, it’s only a matter of time before other government employees pick and choose who to serve.

  • As to the last item “we already have these guys,” why say “beat them up” when the operative phrase should be “murder them in cold blood”?

  • The inconsistency of Kim Davis’s refusal to issue marriage licenses to gays (because it’s against God’s law), without any hesitation with regard to divorced people (adulterers, according to the Bible) is simply incomprehensible. (?)

    • I give you that. “Modern” churches are hardly in line with Biblical teachings.

    • Actually, that’s the only part of it that makes sense. She did all that BEFORE finding Jesus. So it actually makes internal-sense. The part that’s still in error is her misunderstanding that her “approval” is needed.

I suspect some very serious trauma in her earlier life.

I think you’ve misunderstood my comment. I wasn’t referring to her personal life before conversion. I was addressing the fact that if she feels compelled to refuse marriage licenses to gay couples based upon her religious convictions, she should apply those same Biblical convictions to anyone who has been divorced — based upon Scripture, they are adulterers and should be refused a marriage license.

      • Whoops. I most definitely did misread that. My apologies. You are, absolutely correct: no shellfish, no blended cloth, no beardshaving, all that.

    • God’s law includes polygamy taking wives from conquered lands (“Raping the survivors”)

Me, I prefer the nice gay couple next door. Among other things, they don’t try to tell other people who they can marry.

I don’t think any “Christian” who knows anything about “God’s Law” would adhere to the Old Testament Law and its teachings. They have enough of a problem abiding by the New Testament Law.

        😀

  • Government à la carte is what you have had for generations, Ted,; it’s just that it’s become still more obvious recently. «Pay to play» is the name of the game, and corruption is protected by the «free-speech» clause of the First Amendment of the US Constitution, as interpreted by that country’s Supreme Court….
