The part that is so sad to me is that you’d be the first sumbitch jumping in front of the firing line to defend any cartoonist from charges this bogus, even right wing ones. Even the Obamabot ones.
But even your closest colleagues, with a few notable exceptions, are silent.

Signe is female, so hardly a “sumbitch”; if she is in front of the firing line to defend “bogus” charges, whether right-wing or Obamabot, what makes that anathema to you? It sounds admirable to me. The fact that colleagues are silent is not relevant at all.

This is a thread that involves Signe Wilkinson and her defense of Ted Rall’s depiction of Obama, for which he’s been attacked. Do you see it otherwise?

If you post, say, a link to a Jonathan Swift essay at your own blog and the first response is addressed to “you”, do you assume the person replying is somehow trying to communicate with Jonathan Swift?
der lehrer has gotten randomly hostile when misunderstanding people lately. My only problem with what you said, BMA, is that I’m pretty sure Tom Tomorrow was the first guy defending Ted, and Ted has said several cartoonists have made statements in his favor since.
Among others, Signe Wilkinson, Lalo Alcaraz, Kevin Moore, Scott Stantis and Ruben Bolling have stated their public support.
When you post a “Reply” to a post of mine and use the word “you” – there is no alternate conclusion. As an educator of the English language (and French, and German) allow me to instruct you in proper usage. If *YOU* don’t mean “you” as a personal response, you should use the word “one”! One doesn’t need more than a high-school education to understand this.
@ Jack Heart – I wasn’t aware that I have been “randomly hostile” and I’m sorry for that impression.
After reading all the comments in this thread once again, I realize that BMA’s comment was directed to Ted. Had he used the salutation, there would have been no confusion on my part.
