Other Cool Cartoonists

The Interwebs are mean to me.

All the other altie cartoonists have online homes:

Ruben Bolling is on Boing Boing.

Matt Bors, Jen Sorensen, Tom Tomorrow and Mark Fiore are on Daily Kos.

Do I really suck that bad?

  • Bleep ’em! You’re great. Thus endeth the peptalk.

  • Maybe you are “overqualified”.

  • You’re the best! If I could help, I would!

Content yourself that you have published more and better books than the lot of them. I don’t see Joe Sacco having much of an online presence, yet everyone admires his work.

  • Daily Kos would have banned you for being critical of Obama. You don’t need any part of “the great faux-liberal cheeto.”

  • No, you’re too cool to fool.

  • Ted,

You are a great cartoonist, you know it, and your enemies know it. But the key point may be that you too, have an ego and that it is bruised. I think that you are taking the wrong tack here. You should be wearing this like a badge of honor, your enemies have effectively almost blackballed you, why, because you are dangerous to their cause of keeping the masses uninformed. As you said in your comment on TR, he helped by being willing to speak truth to power. Besides that, you have a home page right here, and your books, and your blog, allow you to speak.

Someday soon, America will come out of this fog, and get better again, then again, maybe not, it may go down. But you already knew that.

  • If it makes you feel better, on p. 145 of Diana Hacker’s Pocket Style Manual, 4th ed. the entry on how to properly cite a cartoon in the MLA style, the example is: Rall, Ted. “Search and Destroy.” Cartoon. Village Voice 23 Jan. 2001: 6.
