The old Taliban stricture that required visitors to Afghanistan to wear a beard at least the length of a fist (whose fist?) is technically no longer valid. In reality, however, it’s important to show respect for a culture where men are expected, in many parts of the country, to display their manhair. So here’s what I look like one week after I quit shaving.
In other news, we’re waiting for visas from Iran and Tajikistan.

you see, US #395 is even more of a jerk, he’s not making fun of 1 guy (ted) whom he barely knows of but bad-mouthing 1 billion+ persons in general and 28 million persons in particular almost all of whom he doesn’t know at all.

I don’t need to know them personally to know stoning a woman to death is wrong. Making her wear a burka is not much better. And I seriously have to wonder about a man’s sexuality if he prefers his women covered.
Personally I like getting women stoned…but I suppose that’s different from stoning women isn’t it?
For real Ted…in this picture, you look exactly like this guy I knew in high school who was a real asshole….he was supposedly the one of the class to be the next john Lennon…he’s a police officer now.
